My life’s work has been dedicated to the creative pursuit of information and the ability to communicate what I have learned as accurately and effectively as possible. If your organization has a story to tell, I believe my unique expertise would make me a valuable addition to your team.
My previous professional experience as a broadcast journalist highlights my personal proclivity to learn everything there is to know about a given subject in the service of informing people in a clear and timely manner. As a budding reporter and news anchor, I learned to balance reporting, writing, producing and anchoring newscasts across six radio stations each and every weekday - all while acting under pressure and a strict deadline. Acting as an intrepid, one-man band journalist and self-editor has taught me to take the most efficient path – while maintaining integrity and quality – and to adapt and improvise when unexpected situations inevitably arise.
As a news director, I took great pride in reorganizing the daily news schedule, creating fresh news products, designing and improving web-based content and establishing the company’s social media presence – all to the end of distributing timely information that best suits the public’s needs. And, as digital news editor of a website that garners more than 500,000 unique views each month, I was honored by the Associated Press in 2015 for my work.
In 2017, I took the helm at the state news at the Ohio News Network as Afternoon News Anchor, broadcasting newscasts and producing story packages for 80+ independent radio affiliates around Ohio. Our coverage has garnered multiple NASRN awards in that time, and - in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic - I oversaw creation of the Ohio News Network Daily podcast to expand our coverage beyond the borders of the state, as well as the Nerd Association podcast to celebrate the nerdy passions of my colleagues and our listeners.
In 2022, I departed the world of journalism to start my own business as a voiceover artist and audiobook narrator - but my mission has remained largely the same. I have a deep-rooted passion for giving a voice - in this case, literally - to important stories that need to be told. My time as a self-directed worker has reinforced my organizational skills and self-accountability and bolstered my satisfaction in the hard work that it takes to put one’s passions into practice as not just a job, but a vocation.
I am excited about the prospect of bringing my investigative expertise, communication prowess and leadership qualities to a new challenge and demonstrating my value by delivering exceptional results
